WKC is at VIR on July 27. Not many of us sprint racers go. But it would be great to get the Woodbridge guys out to Beaver Run. Is that date flexible?

+1 on night races. I don't get off of work as easily as you guys so Friday practice is not an option Sad
Saturday practice and Saturday night races are my favorite! ...except when I pop two motors between the heat and final Rolling Eyes



Concerning WKC at VIR, this is probably the worst date situation that could have occured. Lets wait until we run with them the first race of the year and see what their input will be.


Night race was no doubt one of my favorites. If the Majority wants to stick with it being a night race then I dont see it being a problem. Let me work on that.

To me personally, it would be neat to see 80cc shifters show up at the races. I always thought, and still do, that the 80s were a lot more practical and common sense way to get into shifters, rather than jump straight into a 125.

There is one race on the schedule that holds a lot of potential for the 80 shifters: the July race at Pittsburgh Intl'. Over in the west in Circleville, Ohio, the MSOKC still holds one of the few remaining 80 shifter strongholds in this country. I don't know if the 80cc guys who race at Circleville would be willing to make the trip to PIRC to race with the NESKS. But I would think the track is just close enough to them that they might give it a thought.

One potential problem though, looking at their own schedule for this year, they have a MSOKC race penciled in for July 28, so they might not be willing to take that date off to go race at PIRC on the 27th. Then again, I could be wrong; worth looking into I think.

As for the schedule, there's definitely a lot more traveling involved this year if someone was looking to do the whole season. I've drove to Pittsburgh last year so I know how long it could take, although it's one scenic trip driving through the Poconos and Alleghenys to get there.

But despite that, and expanding on what I posted above, I wonder if it's close enough to the shifter karters in the Great Lakes region that they might be interested in doing the Pittsburgh race. Travel may be an issue, PIRC is farther for some of them than it is for some of us. But I know the Midwest guys are looking for an event with more than a handful of shifters just like over here, and a potential grid full of shifters might be worth the long trip for some of them.

I always thought Pittsburgh is in a unique place geographically speaking; it's too far west to be considered the Northeast, but it's too far east to be considered the Midwest. It's a sort of "No Man's Land". Kind of an ideal place to get both regions of the country together for an event.

The WKA/WKC GN being held at VIR on that weekend, that may effect the numbers a little. But on the other hand, the CES, which seems to have the biggest group of shifters in the Midwest, doesn't appear to have a race scheduled for July 27th, if the PIRC race remains on that date that is.

I might be jumping ahead way too much with this, more than what the series is trying to focus on right now, and it just may be too far for most of them to think about, but it's something else to consider.

Now putting travel concerns aside, and judging solely on the tracks alone, the schedule is great! From shorter, tighter 1/2-miles like OVRP and Englishtown, to long, sprawling, and very fast tracks like Shenandoah and F1 Boston, and a few right between; PIRC and NJMP, what a great diversity of tracks this year for the racers. And, the July 27th conflict aside, it's all scheduled nicely too. No long gaps, but no races scheduled next to each other as well. Very nice.

The Ohio and Indiana shifter guys should only be like 5-6 hours away from Beaverun. We are hoping that they would come out and support the shifter east coast movement. We all talk about how the east coast has no big national events, bla bla bla...this would be the perfect opportunity for our series to show diversity and to show the rest of the country that the east coast means business!

I think the 80cc motor is an awesome entry level motor and tons of fun to drive. I personally started with an 80cc motor. Just like Mike stated earlier, if the #'s are there, they could be added to the mix. Even if the #'s are not there, anyone that shows up with an 80cc would not be denied. They would just have to make sure that they meet the 405lbs weight requirement if running with the stock 125cc moto guys.

I see the gas went from open to "TBD". If gas is specified, can it be something commonly available, like VP MS98 or VP C12.

VP MS 98 for stock motos please... There is no need to run a higher octane fuel and this is what SKUSA runs. (...and I have like 5 unopened cans of it that I would like to use...Wink

My suggestion would be to allow both C12 and MS98 and let people decide themselves. Lot of people like to run C12 in "stockers" for the extra protection against detonation.

I am pretty sure fuel is still gonna be left open. We really just had to word it differently. But if not and there is a spec fuel , it would of course be the most popular and what everyone runs. Nobody would have an issue.

Out of curiosity does anyone use pump gas?
