|
|
I have a Mychron 3 Gold on my shifter kart. I am able to connect the USB cable and download all my data without a problem.
My son has a Mychron 3 Plus on his Kid Kart. When I try to connect to it the software says it can't find the dash. I am pretty sure I don't have the right driver.
Is there a different driver for the Plus?
Thanks,
Aaron |

Aaron, this isn't a software issue, the plus uses a different download cable that has a resistor in the line. Forgot the reason why, but you need the other cable from AIM.
Give me a call and I can get you all fixed up. _________________ 2Wild Karting

Are you sure you aren't thinking of the M3 Basic ? I know it uses a different cable. I think the Plus, Gold, and Ext. all use the same cable.

I'm almost certain the Plus, Gold and Extreme use the same cable, the one thats basically a USB-Binder with nothing in line, you can make one yourself. The Basic and 2T use the cable that has what seems like an inline serial adaptor.
Is there anything in Windows that seems to indicate that its connected, anything in Device Manager.
New batteries are worth a shot in the MyChron, bit of a catch-all for when they get a bit fidgety.
Failing that, you can call AIM, they have fantastic support, even for their legacy stuff. _________________ Live in the midwest and have a TaG, Shifter, KPV, KT100, Animal\LO206, enduro or superkart?

+1!!!
I just recently sent in my 3 Gold because i couldnt get it to connect to my computer. They checked it out, somehow got it working, and had it on its way back to me the next day. All I had to do was pay shipping. Now its working great! I would try calling them first. They are very helpful over the phone. |

The cable for the Plus, Gold and Extreme are identical. Your issue seems to be caused by the absence of a driver. If the firmware is old it will use a 471 driver if it is the latest firmware it will use the 11cc driver. The 471 driver does not work with Windows Vista/7/8 so you will need to run the 471 driver fix mentioned earlier. If you are running this on a XP or later OS then you can simply load the 98/ME driver through windows explorer.
We can help with these procedures and we are just a phone call away. (800)718-9090
