Sad for the history of PITTS, sad for one of the original kart shops in SoCal and sad for karting in general.
Bet Ol Howie is kickin from the other side!
When is the liquidation sale? I can use a new spark plug!
RIP PITTS |

That's sad, thought's and well wishes to the current crew at Pitts.. Legendary kart shop, I hate to see them go. And I know Doug you had some history with Chuck and the crew years ago, thought's with you also. _________________ Frankie

Does anyone know how to get in touch with them? My brother in law owns a capital investment company that buys distressed businesses.

I had no idea. I thought they were pretty busy at the track the last time I stopped by to take in a LAKC event last year. Did the economy have an impact on them?
Really too bad. |

The economy and internet sales along with a few other factors probably led to its demise. _________________ Sex is like pizza. When it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. |

Sorry to hear they went out. I got a catalog from them many years ago with a purchase and the prices seemed higher than other places so I tended not to buy from them. If you cut the cover of the catalog into two strips it was the perfect thickness for setting the ignition coil on a KT100.

| Pitts closing is really too bad. As a SoCal resident I tried to support them with purchases whenever I could, but some stuff was just more convenient and often less expensive to buy online. Last summer I bought four tires from Pitts, but got the wheels from Acceleration Kart Racing in Vegas. I got the feeling they were struggling with inventory as they didn't have a single matching wheel set on the shelf. Who is left in L.A. County to pick up the market? |

No one. They all had to close because people were more interested in saving $5 buying online. |
