|
|
Guys,
I haul two karts on a trailer behind my car (low budget operation!). I need a cover that can be used on a trailer. I bought a Sparco cover but it was shredded after about 10 minutes on the interestate (should have known better). Anyone know of a source for a kart cover that can withstand trailering?
Thanks,
Todd |

Check with your local boat canvas/upholstery shop, they should be able to hook you up. I don't know how low budget it'll be but they make covers towing for boats all the time.

| Yeah....my Honda jetski had a great cover and it might work on the kart. I was hoping to find one that was custom fit to the karts. |

I think most of the kart manufacturers expect you'll be using a cover in the pits overnight, or storing at your shop. Unlike boats or jetskis they don't ever expect karts to be traveling in the open.

I am interested in this as well. I do have a kart cover for when I am at the track but I've been unsuccessful to keep it in place at even at slow driving speeds. I finally gave up and just transport it in the open. It makes for good advertising. _________________ NTK/LSGP

John,
Take your sparco to tent and awning to use for a pattern.

I transport my kart in an open trailer, and for a year or so I covered the kart with the one Comet sells--great product IMO. To keep it on, I used 2-3 bungee straps, which worked fine.
My only complaint was that the setup wouldn't keep the cover from trapping air, so it looked like a small parachute back there.
Now I don't cover the kart during transport unless it rains. |

^I had the Comet one. I ripped after 10minutes of 70mph wind when I transported like this:
I would be interested in a durable custom cover as well. I like the idea of a jet ski cover, but no idea what size would fit around a kart as those are typically custom made to the ski model and a very tight fit. _________________ CKR/KZ
