| The maturity of an 8 yr old compared to a 12 year old makes it nearly impossible for the 8 yr old to be competitive. I wonder if an 8 yr old has ever won a wka national? Most of the racers that dominate sportsman end up being 13 anyways. This class definitely has a place |

I think Kyle is on to something - for a true National championship let's just have one class - same kart specs and all ages run - 7 yr old to 90+ use current Yahama JR chassis and enginge - faster than Yahama Sr anyway
after all Nascar and Indy car don't have multple class in their national championship series
practice and qualify on Sat - race on Sun
Top 33 qualifers make the final - rest go home - |

That makes perfect sense Tom,
Kyle I did have a relative in that class, the first year, but we are now going to Jr Yamaha, Rookie was a great class for a National beginner to get there feet wet in the sport but we have moved up to Jr's at 12 years of age |

since most kart tuners/supporters are Dads/Moms - doesn't everyone have a relative (son -daughter - grandchild) in most classes?
strange question - |

Let's see.....less classes....no mid season changes.... a better event, with more track time, and more understanding/listening to what the racers want..(sounds like they're already listening!)..with a supporting cast of: Fulks/ Dismore's/ Sieracki's/ Janowski/ T. Koyen/ E. Jones/ K. Laukaitis/ K. Freber/ Russell Jr./ McLaughlin and Nelson....these guys are racers for the racers.....with Coats promoting....smells like success to me!
Keep it simple, know your customers (the karter)....the more of them you have the more of everything else you sell.....as we all know, doing it the other way around is a recipe for disaster.
Thanks for stepping up to the plate!! |

| Why no shifters? Isnt the shifter class supposed to be one of the top level of karting classes? |

Traditionally, single gear FA/ICA/KF has been the "top" of karting.
That's changed a little bit in recent years with the relative failure of KF.
But there's not enough of a shifter following the areas the series races to warrant adding it. Unless you're on the west coast, shifter racing is spotty in regards to steady attendance. _________________ T.J. Koyen

KZ1 is "the" top level of karting with out a doubt, but right now it has no place in American karting. Even if the class was offered, the factory teams would not participate, making the class irrelevant, that is why the only time the class is offered in the USA is at the Supernats. _________________ Kyle Kraus
