I'm in for TaG Masters and believe I can bring at least one and possibly several other Masters drivers interested in coming along as well _________________ Mark Peters

Yamaha rookie is the "participation trophy" of karting, I'm not saying its a bad idea or class, because the youth need to be developed, but if you're coming to the national level, I think the racer should be going there understanding and wanting to race against the best. Otherwise, why are you going? At the national/pro level of karting, there should be classes structured to pitch the best against the best. Otherwise, go race regionals or club racing. _________________ Kyle Smith

Kyle, you are so misinformed, you need to come back to the states.
That class is one of the best classes for up and coming karters, that is how you grow this sport, get the youngest involved and they will race with us for a long time. The rookie class is for 7 to 10 year old kids and is a lighter weight. You can't even race in sportsman at 7 and if your are a little guy there is to much weight to put on your kart to make weight for the sportsman class. That class has grown every year and has some great racing to watch.

Ok then, make it only 7 and 8 year olds, then throw them at 9 into the belly of the beast. I never said it was a bad class or racing, I said it had no place at the national level, the rookie class can have its "great racing" at the regional or club level. Read what I said before skewing my words.
Also, where are the true best drivers in the nation? SKUSA because they have the classes structured to a real national series. _________________ Kyle Smith

No one is skewing your words Kyle, this is what you said.
SKUSA has a nice program, but it is different and does attract a more International racer, doesn't make the racers better.
Plus most races are held on a dedicated track not parking lots when it come to WKA, or Route 66.
By the way this, thread is regarding an all Yamaha and Leopard class structure. |

I recall saying this as well in case you didn't see. I don't have a problem with the only yamaha and Leopard structure, it is incredibly smart and will most likely make this series special. My point still stands as that this class has no place in a national level series. You disagree with every point I make. I'm not sure why, I look at it from an outside perspective now, and have been involved with WKA racing for years now watching rise and fall of difference classes, so I believe I do have a right to discuss this. Currently I believe you have a relative in this class, I may be completely wrong, but just because this class interests a small group of people, does not mean it is in the best interest of the entire series, that is my point. As stated above, it is not a bad class, or a bad idea, or bad racing racing, every adjective that I could think of to compliment or refer to the class in a positive matter could be inserted here.....but it remains my opinion that it should not be a national series. _________________ Kyle Smith

| The maturity of an 8 yr old compared to a 12 year old makes it nearly impossible for the 8 yr old to be competitive. I wonder if an 8 yr old has ever won a wka national? Most of the racers that dominate sportsman end up being 13 anyways. This class definitely has a place |
