I agreed early on in this thread about cost but simplicity? What could be easier than thumb buttons etc?
Again, i know these are not F1's or close to it but why should we be forced to live in the past? If the technology is available, I feel it should be used! If more did, the prices would/could drop! Look at any new electronic gizmo! Very high until they are circulated then the prices drop!
All im saying is, I think the rules should be a little more lenient to allow the hobby to move forward!
And 12-1500 bucks is NOT that costly when you compare what we BOTH used to pay for a McCullough vs TM, pavessi, Seven or even a Honda!

Ignition interupt eliminates the need to come of the gas while shifting. Costs around $25

Ratax DD2 paddle shifter probably around $300 to adapt to ICC or Moto

Nice setup Brian. How many iterations does it take to get the interrupt timed properly to work if you need to change the engine position do to a gear change?

I don't know. I put it on not knowing it it was not allowed then played around with it and it worked great very fast easy shifting you might be surprised how much time you gain. Then I think it was you that pointed out that it's not allowed so there was no point in even practicing with it. The switch has a threaded collar so after you got it set right you'd just have to adjust it and maintain the same distance from the shift lever to comensate for engine movement.

I don't really see much advantage to the paddle shifter. It's controled with 2 cables so there is some resistance and you have to hit it pretty hard to know your in. When the ordinary shift lever is adjusted right it's easy enough.

Checked with the locals and the consensus is IF anyone showed up at a local event with any after market type shifter, chances are for a club race they would not be turned away so I ordered one to play around with! I think the one im getting does not have an interupt! It is all air!
