Hello fellow karters! Though...I can't technically call myself a karter yet because I haven't driven my kart yet! A week ago, I made the decision to jump into this sport after having thought about it over and over in my head for the last year. I purchased a used TAG kart with a GP6 chassis and a 125 leopard motor. I've been kind of mulling over the forums and googling for karting information for the past week and thought it finally time to say hello.

I don't really have a background in racing, though over the years I've wrenched on my daily driver, I've gone to a couple auto-x events (definitely was not for me because it offered wary too little seat time and I felt it was damaging for my daily driver), and I've gone for spirited driving in the mountains. I started indoor karting this year which was great and fun, but I craved for minute adjustments to the kart to tailor to my fit and my driving style (which I have yet to discover fully).

I've decided to go with the services of Infinity Karting near Infineon. I don't have a way to transport my kart nor do I want to go through the hassle of setting up a trailer. I just want to start running practices and get familiar with my kart. And hopefully, maybe even jump into a few races when the next season starts.

If anyone is also from the bay area and want to meet up for some practice runs at infineon or want to hang out and talk karts, let me know! I definitely hope to learn a lot from you more experienced racers!

Welcome Victor.
I'm in the North Bay area but only race on the large track at "Infineon". You'll be on a steep learning curve for a while and will become comfortable soon. Nothing replaces stick time.
If you have a chance, come out to our race on the large track on the 24th and see karts like yours and bench race with us.
I'll have a garage, look me up.
Greg

Congrats on the new kart! You will have tons of fun with that TaG. I need to plan a visit to Infineon (Sonoma Raceway) soon!

Your timing of getting into the sport is perfect. The Saturday after Thanksgiving, go to Infineon Raceway and watch the road racing put on by the road racing group. It is a lot of fun and a great group of people. That will give you an idea of other types of racing you can do with your kart.

Thanks guys! I will definitely think about coming to the road race. That sounds like a lot of fun.
