|
|
Hey Everyone,
I'm working on putting together my chassis and engine package. I am on the radiator at this point.
Climate here in Tampa, FL ranges... Summers (June-August) are brutal 98 degrees etc.... however all other months are 88 degrees or lower.
What size radiator would best suit my needs. So far I've heard opinons but need to get clear on the best option:
1. Champion Large 19.5 x 10 x 2
2. Champion Medium 16 x 10
3. Champion Medium Double Core 15.25 x 9.25 x3
4. KG Pentagon
5. KG (RD 450.245) 17.75 x 9.5 x 1.5
I'm looking for max cooling but not necessarily max size but I understand I have to keep water temp at 120 degrees for optimum performance.
Let me know your thoughts
Thanks |

| 2" thick came with the kart, no name on it, just went tru the logs of this weekend and did not go over 115F, you want just under 140f for max power |

Derek, I think you will be just fine with a 16x8 or 10. 1 3/4 or dual core. Where do you run for a home track? I am over here in Orlando, but am from Tampa. Check out www.ellisracingproducts.com
I just ordered and received today a 16x8 radiator from Scott and his radiators are truly a work of art!. He will custom fab whichever size you need and I would give him a call if you like what you see. _________________ Tony Kart Krypton/MY09 Leopard |

Matt .... I am still putting it all together but I'm planning on running Anderson Race Park, Ocala GP and Orlando.
And....Maybe if Chad Reed opens up his backyard track for a practice session that would be EPIC.
How's the track out in Orlando?
Thanks for the radiator advice

Orlando is great track and very technical. A bit of work for shifters as you will be working the lower gears hard, but a lot of fun! Have you gone to the 3 and run the rentals at each?
What chassis are you working with? _________________ Tony Kart Krypton/MY09 Leopard |

Just stopped by because I was in the area and it is a neat little track. There was some private testing going on and was fun to watch a bit. _________________ Tony Kart Krypton/MY09 Leopard
