Gavin,

Welcome to the world of karting. I can recommend a 4 cycle builder in Burlington. Before I moved to shifter he could always give me a top 5 motor. Let me know if you want the number. His name is Bob Urry, Phantom Engines.

Gavin:
By a copy of Inside Track magazine. Last one was Vol5 issue16 it has Inside Karting as a insert. Both have kart ads from Ont. There are lots of good builders. Find out what they charge and what they do for the money. SOme are getting way too much money for there stuff. It works OK but is the same as anybody elses so why the more money

Hi,

I know of two really good engine builders.

The first is Karts And Parts in Toronto, well actually Markham. Their website is http://web.idirect.com/~kartspts/ . I have one of their engines and it really makes a difference. You can get stages, stage 1, 2, 3, or 4. Stage 4 is the best, and stage 1 is the worst. they race at the Toronto Kart Club with Gold chassis, so you may see them at a race if you live in Toronto.

The second is Extreme, I know they're really good, but I don't think that they're legal. One guy had them, and he was so much faster on the staights, and out of the corners, but then they took his engine away or something, and he couldn't win. At least that's what I heard.

Anyway, hope this helps,

Thanks
Andrew

Hi Gavin -

Just to make things more complicated, here are 2 more choices:
1) Arnold Engines - run by Glen Arnold located
at Goodwood, where he is track manager, he produces good 4 cycle engines but tends to be very busy.
2) Camden Motors - run by Al DiFrangia works for a Honda Dealer in Rexdale, does a good job at a good price, has returned parts after
service so you know he has done what he says he did!

If you want more info, just email me and I can provide more details

Gerry

I race with "Dominator Racing Engines" done by George Conquer 416-267-5525. Very reasonable, he may be to far our of town for you though he's in Scarboro.
