Not sure what the cell phone coverage is like at NJMP but I have seen people use U-Stream on a cell phone to broadcast live over the internet, that might be cool. Hang in there. |

With pre-confirmed entries approaching close to 50, this Saturday's race at NJMP will be broken up into two classes.
We will have one KZ class which will include all KZ & Mod Moto engines and second class will be a Stock Moto class.
Without a doubt it would be a total "WOW" factor to see a grid of 50 karts...but the true reality, it's just not physically possible to fit all. I am guessing maybe max 35 karts could be placed on to the grid. Number two, NJMP staff has expressed safety concerns which we will have to follow.
If for some reason we do end up with less then 35 karts with both classes combined, then we will run as a single class, but scored separately.
Stock Moto guys...you wanted your own class, here you go

We have a SKM Italia C125 Stock moto shifter kart (not exactly sure about the chassis, around 2004) with a 40mm rear axle. My son John will be racing at this track and the series for the first time this weekend. He has raced at Englishtown, Oreville and half of the NJMP kart track.
I was wondering what type of sprocket sizes would be good at this track? Right now we have a 26 rear and 16 front.

On that note, a couple more questions: Does NJMP have the same airbox policy as F1 Boston? Or can we use a standard K&N-type filter there?
Also, Fuel is being sold at the track I presume?

Njmp has no noise restrictions. But make sure to stay within stock moto guidelines.There will be tech!
Fuel is available at the track. I believe they have the sunoco 110

I wanted the "slow guy" race class.... with not so many laps....
For the gear 15/24 on stock honda will get you close, byt from there it's personal preference.
Now for the question: Do stock honda rules require airbox or is filter ok?

If you guys don't want to do so many laps, we can certainly bring it up at the drivers meeting and take a vote on it.
Airbox or filter, either one is fine to run.

| My vote is for more laps so that will be interesting... Seriously, the beauty of the NESKS is that you get a lot of driving time + race laps in vs. other series (NJ Sprint Series, club races). If you do not want to race that many laps and consider yourself a slow(er) driver, just only race the heat (15 laps) or sit out the heat and race the main only (20 laps). Or just pull-in when you are too tired. Not intended to offend anyone but I believe competition racing is about survival of the fittest, pushing yourself to the limit, and not about lowering competition to suit the weakest common denominator. |
