Take out the 2 cap screws (Bolts) and the motor should just slide out correct? I'd rather ask than find out the hard way I needed to do something else...
Battery is still good, tried a new out of the box one I have.
Push the start button and the only thing that happens is the relay clicks. Connections all seam to be good.
I think the grandson holds the start button down too long and...hopefully it just needs new brushes...
Motor starts with an external starter. |

Yes two bolts and it slides out, or was it three? Either way you might have to tug a little to break it free but your on the right track _________________ #3 Gillard Charlotte / PRD |

2 bolts, thanks for the response.
The reason I asked was because I saw the o-ring and just wanted to insure it wasn't there for more than just dust/dirt...
As it turned out it was more than the brushes...once I got the housing off a bunch of...something...fell out. Starter is toast... Luckily I have a back-up.
Anyone know if a starter from a leopard (I think that's the right one???) will work on a PRD? They "look" identical and are almost half the price... |

| The starters are different but Mattoon Machine makes a setup to run a leopard starter in a PRD so you can use the better and less expensive starters. Even with their setup its still cheaper than buying a new PRD starter! |
