Hmmm? Ours was up a several days ago.

I'll forward this to Lisa, maybe she'll have some info.

There definately was not 70 shifters Jim. The pit lane was pretty full though it really was awesome. I would say there was about 20 CIK's and about 15 G125's on saturday. Sunday there was alot less in both classes.

Sure would be nice if we had some lap times reported on mylaps though.

Glen,

If you participated you can compare your laps to any driver in your race. Simply click your name in the results, on the next page there is a drop down box that contains all the drivers in your group.....pick one and click on it and you can then look at all of your laps compared to whomever you picked.

I missed fast lap by .298! How did you do?????

@ Jim - Lisa said we had 78 shifter entries.. She must have meant for both days.... I'm sure there was a least 40 on Saturday. Either way, great times... You guys should make the trip next year.

I think it was 31 on Sat. Not bad at all. When I read 70 I was like "awesome!"

To be totally honest, after seeing the videos and chatting it's a bit too much of a draftfest for my taste to warrant travelling all that way. Sure, drafting is part and parcel of road racing but I think the likes of Daytona and MIS etc dont really appeal to me. I need to be doing more than being flat in 6th for 45seconds to keep my narcolepsy at bay Smile

You can expect to see me at Grattan and/or Gingerman though. You should make the trip to Blackhawk Smile

Jim, you need a laydown!

Can't tell you how many races I've done at Daytona completely by myself after the start. It NEVER gets boring. Terminal Velocity, slippin under the air, the banking forcing your body straight through the chassis, kart jumpin around like it's on springs and your hands have not moved........all at 130+. Cool

Throw in the occasional B-Stocker or F-125 classmate and your doing all the above sometimes less than an inch apart! Nothing in the World feels like a laydown shifter at a place like that.

On top of all that, you get to build your ride (personal like!) instead of buying #162 of 1507!

Becareful though, the guys may kick you off the team if you show up to load for a race with "that crazy laydown kart!!!!". Laughing Laughing Laughing

And what would the mates back home think of that?????

A wise driver told me a long time ago, "The folks that say Daytona or the other big tracks are boring just need a faster go-kart".

Don't start hating, I'm just quoting! Cool

This was my first year karting, and even though everyone told me to step down from the CIK 125 I found, I think I rocked it pretty well this year. And to top it off, I got to race at MIS?! Awesome season!

For someone who never really had any experience before this year, I must say the road racing side of karting is a blast. I'll have to find some time to hit the sprint tracks next season, just to try to get an idea of the 2 different styles, but man I think I'm a RRer for life!

The gridding of the CIK guys on Saturday was rough, but other than that it was a fun weekend, and right on time before it got really cold a week later! Got some cool GoPro vid, and fun stories to tell. Thanks for getting us back at MIS!

I dug these up a couple weeks ago, and didn't even think about posting till now. At least someone out there is writing about us...
