I'm looking for a new, larger radiator, but I keep finding these ungodly expensive ones and I refuse to pay $400-500 for a kart radiator. Anyone have any options for a good quality radiator that is less than $300? _________________ KEEP WORKING....millions of people on welfare depend on you !! |

I'm also lookin for another radiator right now and wanted to get some feedback, I've got a Spike and I've got an Ellis like the one above. They are both ok, but I want some extra capacity for the hot weather.
Anyone have any experience with the Champion Dual Core? That seemed like an interesting option. |

Champion Dual Core is heavy. There's no way around this, you will need to spend $400-$500 for a larger radiator. Medium rads will not cut it when temps go over 90 degrees. _________________ www.KartingConnect.com

| Most people i see buy the largest Rad and tape the crap out of it. HUMM, Wind sail. Have you ever tryed adding a shroud to duct the air thru the rad. I ran a single core Vortex with my Mod honda and I would see 140 to 150 max on a 100 deg day in So Cal. I would think you would want the smallest rad you could use without overheating it. Good for aero and you dont want that extra weight so high in the chassis. |

Steve, I had a large shroud on the Ellis last year. I do see Ellis has some new sizes now, I think mine is one of the original 19x8's, kind of an awkward size to work with.
Bernard, I'm not looking for a medium rad. I would think the Dual Core weight would be similar to a large Champion, as it is smaller than the large but thicker. |

Economies of scale makes all the difference.
BTW, good luck fitting that one unless your seat is sized ultra-S. |

| The radiator is part of the problem. You need to look at the whole system. I can cool a cr 125 on a 100 degree day at 100 degree water temp on a mod motor with jetting on the edge of deto. the radiator i use is a 14x10. It takes me about 10 hours to mod the whole system to work like it should. I have a cooling system dyno that i test all the parts on. |

Just receive my Ellis rad today. Scott really knows how to weld a nice bead. The mounts might even be overbuilt. They appear to be thick aluminum extrusions & the pivots at the radiator have rubber bushings. The thing just oozes quality.
Stoked, I am!
