Any advice on what to use to clean the connecting rod metal off of the crankshaft of a seized World Formula motor. Any help would be appreciated.

In a word ,"don't "! It's just about impossible to get the microscopic pieces of aluminum out of the the crank. The cranks should not be polished as they relie on a specific finish to retain lubrication. The time and money spent trying to repair the crank will easily exceed the cost of a new one.

Muratic acid. But it's not worth it for $60. Get the new crank.

I have cleaned off the "stuck on" aluminum from Briggs cranks for years with no problem. Takes about 10 mins at most. Muratic acid, then some 600 grit cloth and then some 1000 grit. Put it back together and run FHS-62R oil. Works every time.
