Hey Everyone,
Does anyone use an of the following sensors with any of the data acquistion system.
Steering, Brake or Throttle Sensors.
If so, does the data help you and what do you look for.
Thanks

We've got brake and throttle sensors on the Pi Club - we have them for driver training because Tom had a bit of a habit of riding the brakes (we went through a lot of clutches) and denied it fiercely so we wanted to prove it.

Gary,
I had a data acc question the other day doing my research and I made it over to the aim web page(mychron) and as I read it with I think the drak system they had sensors for everything, stering wheel position, brake, throttle, etc. Check out the webpage. If you get any tech feed back share it. |

Brad,
The Drack can have the steering wheel position, brake and throttle. They just don't come with it.
Each are about $100
Was mainly asking if anyone has used them.
Rob,
The My-Chron 2 can't not use any of these sensors.

Were you able to prove it?
Can this be done on a Mychron II? |

| Just make sure your rules allow you to run these sensors. Many clubs don't allow it. |

Well Gary I'm not going to be to helpfull because I just started using a DRAK. The positioning sensors are used for mapping the track. Calibrating the sensors and acquiring usefull data such as lap times and segment times seems to be rather difficult. Even after re-routing all the wiring. My understanding after talking with AIM is that the throttle and brake sensors are only used for recording the percentage of applied brake or throttle. I would like to know the points on the track map that show where I began applying either the brakes or throttle. |

Patrick,
In a round about way, you can already tell where you apply the brakes or the throttle without using additional sensors.
The Race Studio software provides a Linear Acceleration trace. You can use this along with the map that the Drack can build to see were you are starting to brake or accelerate. |
