| Rain city!......... By the way who the heck taught Tony Canaan how to dance? The commercial he does for Brazil is fine until his so callled "dance" it is the dance from hell -- sorta like Elaine's dance on Seinfeld. They said that due to all the locals it is the largest amount of people watching a TV show of all time in the world.. |

I was flipping around during the Blackhawk game intermission, what's with these wuzzeys stop for rain?, What are they NASCAR?, a local kart race?
Kinda funny if you're a hockey and IRL fan and you have DirecTV you're screwed. _________________ Motohead |

Friday night, we had a storm here and my Comcast Digital went out. Of course, Versus is on a digital only channel. Next available service appointment? Wednesday. Arrrggghhhh....
So, we sort of watched it on iracing. Apparently, whoever was controlling their camera feed was told 'Everytime you see a pass about to happen, cut away to a shot of a chainlink fence that shows no cars.' _________________ Spec TaG Masters @ NCMP / #23 |

you were lucky Scott for not having seen it. My brain is fried. Actually from your vantage point you could have announced it. Were these guys locked in a closet in NY watching a webcast and announcing?
I noticed the track was wet at least two laps before any mention of rain
I saw smoke coming off Wheldons tires right beofre they said Kanaan missed the corner (oblivious to the fact that it was a THREE car crash and there was contact)
Jack Arute actually said to Power something about being in RIO!
They didn't see Danica's LR tire changer lose the nut and get one out of his belt.
I know these guys aren't dummies but something about the logistics of this makes them seem that way.
I feel dumber for having watched this |

Actually, apart from the MASSIVE DUST causing the first turn pileup, I found it entertaining to watch. Mostly 'cause I'd like to see Hunter-Reay have a breakout year. Shame he couldn't carry it to the end. As he said in the break, he would have had the advantage of visibility in the lead in the rain. I think they should've kept running -- the DO have rain tires. Wait 'til the massive downpour stops and do a couple yellow laps to see the big puddles then go at it... (I love driving in the rain...)
Too bad my Tivo cut out with 10 min. to go....oh well. Looking forward to next race... At least there was some good passing zones and good passes, vs. the F1 debacle... _________________ Owner, www.hamiltonhelmets.com // UAS Racer #76 // Karting for karting's sake...keep it fun! |

For anyone, like myself, with DirecTV the Versus network is back on. I just walked in to my family room turned on the TV and found that my DVR was recording a replay of the race. Looks like DirecTV and Comcast have settled.

Overall I think it was an excellent race to watch. Consider the challenges posed to deliver the progam to your TV....
Unintended slippery surface
New site
Rain
High winds
As far as the commentaries maybe I just don't seem to pay attention to the race chatter once the green flag drops.
I'm an open wheel fan. Got up early to watch the F1 race. Kind of a stale feeling as it became apparent the no-refueling rule has returned F1 to a parade status. We found the same issues in our rFactor F1 league when we tried no-refuel rules and went back to re-fueling.
Looks like Indycar will be the open wheel series to watch this year as far as on-track action goes. _________________ John Denman
