Hey guys,
Im new here and new to racing, but not karts or engines or frames and building and such.
I'm 13 and i've rebuilt many engines and fine tuning and such.
IM building a shifter kart and im wondering anout the dimensions of a normal shifter kart.
I just need to know ho long they are from the back to front, how wide the back of a frame and how wide the front is, how long an axle wwould be and how long the tierods are from end to end for the steering. THanks _________________ mechanicojoe=mechanic JOE |

Welcome to the forum.
Are you saying you're trying to build your own shifter chassis? If so I would strongly not recommend it. Regardless of how well you build it, I doubt many tracks would let you run a home-built kart in a race. I know a guy (happens to be an aeronautics engineer) who tried building a kart, and it actually looked pretty good. However he scrapped it after not too long because it wouldn't handle worth a flip. There's a lot of science that goes into these things that's really hard to replicate on your own with tubing and a welder.
If you want a shifter kart to race, just save up a bit of money and buy a used chassis. But if you're just planning on using it to zip around the neighborhood or something, then go for it. Just my 2 cents. _________________ Intrepid Suzuka TM K9 ICC

| of course it depends on the brand of the chassis. most of them are the same but some are different. 50mm axle would be the best |
