I just bought a cr80. It came with 2 mufflers. 1 kind of big one (i think its that tracks requirments) and then 1 skinny one. I imagin the big one muffles more sound, any more power lose between the 2? Thanks

Silencers are yet another long lesson to learn about. Backpressure and resonant waves can be good or bad. More pressure is more heat to raise the peak RPM to a point, but too much pressure also negates the inflow charge. Then there is the science of resonance.
The easy answer is try both silencers and see what the effects are at different RPM ranges. Note that changing silencers can also affect jetting. |
