Looking at the SKUSA rules and seeing "Novice" listed made me wonder about how you could restricted an 80 to reduce it's HP. Keep in mind that this is for the rookie/sportsman age drivers (9-12). Also keep in mind that there is no national championship (SKUSA) except for USAC. Most if not all the 60's are running IKF and in the SKUSA Regional programs. Our regional program (Great Lakes) has only seen two 60 drviers all year. Bottom line is that parents don't want to spend the money for the 60 and have to turn around and sell it. What most if not all are interested in is using the 80 and restricting it until they are ready to move up to the Junior ranks of shifters.

This topic is being discussed in the Shifter Forum but I believe that it needs to be discussed in the Tech Forum.

My true question is;
1) Has there been any testing or rules written reducing the HP of the 80 for the Sportsman/Novice age group?
2) Has anyone tested this concept and have results that could be published?
3) Take in consideration class weight.
4) Is there anyone else interested in this concept?
