What are the autocross classes? Really how many classes are there? Where can you get rules for certain classes? I have always wanted to take my kart to an autocross, but everythime I take my kart there isnt more than one karter or most times none.

there are Jr classes for kids and f125 for shifters. You can go to scca.com and download the rulebook for free.

F125 is the only adult class. Essentially it is a 125 Moto/ICC shifter class, but as long as you are at least 16 y.o. with a driver's license, you can basically run most anything except anything that is faster than a 125 shifter (like a 250 shifter). As was mentioned above, the rules are online at scca.org under Solo -> Cars and Rules. Download the rule book and look for section 19 - Karts.

F125 is still a young class in the Solo world. So not all regions around the country have embraced the class. Especially since the National Championships have been held on some of the nastiest, bumpiest concrete in the country. I think with the new site at Heartland Park, you may see the class become more subscribed. A common refrain from most people I talk too is, "...looks like a lot of fun, but I wouldn't want to drive one here...(i.e. Topeka)...you guys look like you're getting pounded!"
