I havent made up my mind about going to the WKA race at Ocala yet but from talking to other competitors it seems like a lot of them are going to stay home. They just have not heard anything positive about the Ocala track, and are disapointed about not going to Jacksonville. Whats your take on the subject |

Pat
I'm looking at it this way; I’ve yet to see a track that does not have one problem or another. Can anyone?
Most of the people that I know, that have been at that track, liked it. However they are all concerned over the overall Pit area availability in general. But as we have heard from the Ocala track staff additional pit area is in the works.
I was disappointed also about not going to Jacksonville this year. The main reason being that I knew already where the gearing and chassis setup was going to be. But that set back is not enough to keep me home. I will just adjust accordingly.
In essence I will be there with my son and I hope that he will have good competition/participation within his class.

Though I wish we were going to Jacksonville, we will probably go to Ocala. It's not like there is any huge important holidays right in the vicinity of that date anyway. So we will go, and if the track blows you will get to see a 200 word essay about my trip to hell in Florida somewhere around January 1st, 2002.

Pat,
Come down and race. What better do you have to do up in cold ohio right after Christmas. Below freezing temperature verus the sunshine of florida. Remember Ocala is about an hour and half south west of Ocala. Going south, will only make it warmer.
I know Shawn and Chris will adopt very quick to the track.
Ocala might not be the most difficult track or the most fun to drive. But it's going to be a good race.
I'll try and get to Ocala the beginning of next month to see the progress. When I go, I'll bring the camera and take as many pictures as possible.

We'll be there and hope that we'll see the usuals there as well. The track is open every Sunday for practice and they race the same configuration we will run in December on the first and third Saturday of every month, so if anyone has the extra time to come and test.... Jacksonville's our home track and like everyone else, we were disappointed about not being home but are looking forward to racing at a new venue.
As far as the number of pit spaces, the land is cleared and grass has been planted. There will be no shortage of pit spots for the National race.
Hope to see everyone there. |

We are going because we will be chasing the National Championship again this year. Is it the best track, No way, but once you get 24 racers in the main competing for the same corner, it won't matter, because we will still have fun.
I rather race than sit on a couch. |

| We aren't sure yet whether we are going to Ocala on not. Paulie is tired of having to leave on Christmas day and having to drive 18-20 hours to a race. This year we could leave on the 26th instead so that is making us lean toward going but it's not definate. We are going to miss Jacksonville as it is a great, fun and challenging track for both Paulie as the driver and me as the poke and hope set-up guy, but it's good to be going to new tracks.I just hope that someday we get to go back to Norway. That is the BEST kart track we have ever been to as far as design goes. |

| I will second that comment about Norway and being the best layout. I am hoping that the race date that they have open in sept might turn out to be at Norway |

Does anyone know what gear ratio to start with for Sr. pipe or can? Even though the track is open on Sunday's I don't think I will have time to get down to test. |

Hey Nelson,
You don't need practice, your stuff is always fast. In fact, it might even out the field if you and Nick Wagner don't get any practice. Then they should make you both start last just so we can watch the drafting show as you come to the front. They could have a pit pool so we can bet on how many laps it takes you guys to get to the front. |
