Chad,

EasyKart engines are made to be run only on the EasyKart chassis. They are also only available for purchase to those who are EasyKart owners.

In the ProMoto race, all EasyKart drivers were on EasyKart packages (motor/chassis), some being run totally spec, while others made some of the traditional changes that you find in racing.

I think the results will tell you a lot. Manuel Lobos, the winner in the TaG Masters class on both days, was running totally spec. The second place person on Saturday, who became the winner on Sunday was running with some changes made, while Jonatan Jorge, who finished second on Sunday, was running a totally spec package.

Congrats to all those who did so well in Jacksonville, and to Tony Schroeder for putting that all together.

John,

Thanks for the kind comments ( I think? Laughing ) . As I was the Rotax Regional Distributor I was actually a wholesaler during the growth of the Rotax thing here in FL. I did almost no retail, instead choosing to push retail costomers to my dealers. I'm now paying the price for doing that, as since SSC sold my Rotax distributorship out-from-under-me my ex-dealers are now my competitors, and I'm having to start from ground zero with Rotax..........again !

Chad mentions the "low budget" Easy Karts ( suggested retail $3999? ). Now that I'm in retail, I can assure you I and many others can provide complete, race-ready Leopard packages at or below the retail price of the Easy Kart. So, yes, the TaG concept is starting to show it's advantages, that being that competition, whether on the track, or in the showroom, is a good thing !

Time will tell. Wink

Wow, that's pretty interesting. I think a new Leopard is around $2300. What chassis are you using that I could buy a complete new package from you for at or below $3999?

Thanks for letting me and others know about this, I may have to buy a new TAG kart after all.

Has hell frozen over? You loose the Rotax distributorship and now TaG looks good. Either way glad to see you more receptive to the TaG progam! Will you have a summer series that includes TaG now?

$3999. for a H20 cooled TaG powered kart? Can't touch that, I'd like to know what chassis, tires, mount, etc. could be had for under $1700.

Well thats even better news that the "EK" chassis was so competitive also.

Hmmm, i KNOW there is nothing that would prevent the EK motor being used on any other chassis, so i don't really understand that statement -..... unless you meant to say "intended to be run on EK chassis" ?
Limiting the availability of motors will only limit the financial turnover of the distributor and restrict the growth of the class.

CHUCK: You are an EK Dealer, how do you see this sales restriction ?

Anybody wanting just the motor to fit to their preferred chassis could simply buy the "package" , remove the motor, and sell on the chassis.
But they may just be more likely to buy another - more readily available -motor instead ! Wink

As usual Chucky has to put a negative spin on his comments. Some people never get it. Embarassed

I didn't "loose" the distribution, my 2-year contract expired, and SSC sold it to the highest bidder. I'd done what I wanted to do, didn't feel the need to pay for the "priveledge" of helping SSC kill the FR 125. Sad

Since you and Rob both asked ;

I can offer this deal because I buy when prices are low, in quantity, and I have almost no overhead. Everything I own................I own. I do all my work myself, or hire contract labor to help when things get too busy.

You can look at the chassis here:

http://www.corsaracing.com/new_page_3.htm

I've been using these karts exclusively for two years.

Comes with YHC's or MG MZ, and the wheels have bead locks ! Shocked

I've got an even less expensive option, but will wait until I'm out of the Corsa before I pursue it. I currently have 7 of the Corsa left.

BTW, the Corsa has multiple podiums, mulitple race wins, and one Regional Championship in Rotax competition last year. We started 7th, and ran as high as 4th in the final at the 2003 Rotax Grand Finals. Built by Haase. Still being produced, Haase is still running ads for the line. I have mucho parts in stock. Great kart, especially for the $$ . U.S. import is available if anyone is interested. Contact Haase.

If anyone needs more info, contact me privately. Wink

"CHUCK: You are an EK Dealer, how do you see this sales restriction ? "

I personally think they should be sold to anyone who wants one. Asyou say it will only help EK USA's bottom line. May be poiltical with Birel,IAME etc. Who knows?

You are correct to say the IAME 125cc aircooled motor was not "made" for the Easykart class but "intended" for it.

"I hear there are still areas where HPV <snip>are very popular. But not anywhere around here. "

I don't know where you consider "around here" but in Jacksonville the HPV classes are strong.

Check the results

I would bet Haase won't appreciate your referring to their value priced line of karts as "cheap". Might I suggest "inexpensive" as a more positive description?

I checked the HPV results at http://www.nfkc.us/hpv.htm .

Average entries for the HPV Jr class : 0.2 ( yes, that's 0.2 )

Average entries for the HPV light class : 2.4

Average entries for the HPV Heavy class : 5.4

Congratulations, you have increased participation over last year by almost 400 %. It's got to feel good. Very Happy

"Congratulations, you have increased participation over last year by almost 400 %. It's got to feel good."

Thanks, Bill. We have worked hard to build the HPV class to be the second most popular class at Jax103.

While on averages here are more from the same site:

"Rotax" 2.0
"Rotax Jr." .20
"Rotax M1" .40

Your once loved Rotax class is drying on the vine. probably no big deal since there is no monetary gain for you now. Laughing

Am I supposed to care what Hasse thinks?
