| GATORZ Adds Shifter Class for Streets Event |

The GATORZ Karting Cup will make another appearance at Willow Springs July 1st for Round 5 of the 2006 season. They will race at the competitors' favorite, Street of Willow circuit. It will be the second leg of "Willow Summer," as the series raced at the Willow Kart Track in May and most competitors will return for the Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge Western Regional at the Willow Kart Track in August.
GATORZ will once again control Friday practice. Practice will go from 9am to 5pm as was the case last month. There is an added line on the entry form to write in Friday practice if competitors are planning on attending. The increased cost is due to the higher cost of renting the 1.8 mile Streets of Willow circuit. Most classes will run together most of the day, with separate sessions for Mini Max competitors on their shortened 0.95 mile course.
The GATORZ Karting Cup will also add a 125cc shifter class for this event. Several GATORZ competitors own shifter karts and requested that they be allowed to run at this event. With the recent cancellation of the SCK event originally scheduled for July 2nd at Streets, SCK members are certainly welcome. ICC, Stock Moto, and built Motos are all legal. The weight is 400lbs, and Bridgestone YHC, YJB, MG Yellows (both FZ and MZ) are all legal tires for this class. |
