Joe Ramos Sr. of SSC Racing has stepped up in support of the 2006 CRE/Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge with a donation of $2,500.00 in Rotaxbucks to be awarded to the Rotax racers competing in the CRE Challenge Series. Mr. Ramos stated his appreciation for the efforts and loyalty of CRE in maintaining and promoting the Rotax Challenge in Colorado and for the Rotax racers that have continued to support CRE Motorsports efforts over the last four years.
CRE Motorsports will award $500 in Rotaxbucks to each of the winners of the Junior, International and Masters classes following the conclusion of the five race series ending July 16th. Second place in each class will receive $200 and third place $150 each. The Rotaxbucks can be redeemed for Rotax parts, service or Mojo tires. CRE appreciates the support, encouragement and generosity of Mr. Ramos and SSC Racing in our mutual effort to continue to grow the Rotax Challenge in Colorado and around the country.
CRE Motorsports Park, located in the Peyton/Calhan area has been the proud host of the Colorado Rotax Max Challenge for the last four seasons and will now have the honor of participating in this seasons Champ Car Denver Grand Prix to be held at the Pepsi Center, August 12-13. CRE’s Rotax racers will work with Champ car in the promotion of the event and kart racings designation as the initial rung in the Champ Car development ladder.
"It is our hope to stage an official Rotax regional points event in conjunction with the DGP in the future as the relationship with Champ Car develops" stated George Durdin, CRE CEO."
The adoption and recognition of kart racing by the Champ Car World Series is very significant in elevating our sport in to the mainstream of American motorsports. Karting has long been revered around the world as a development ground for future professional racers and now the professional American open wheel racing series have found the depth of future talent in the Rotax Max Challenge to fill future Champ Car seats.
The SSC sponsorship is in addition to the $3,000 cash awards already on the table and growing for the Junior, International and Masters class Champions in the 2006 WKA Colorado State Sprint Championship Series; bringing the total purse in the combined Rotax Challenge Championships to in excess of $7,500. Many thanks go to our Rotax cash awards sponsors, Community Wireless Access, Homes by Anthony and Meek Motorsports.
CRE's next Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge event is scheduled for Sunday, June 18. Please call 719-749-9840 or send an email for further information regarding the Rotax Challenge. |
