| Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge Grand National Set for Road America |

The newly-announced association between the Rotax Max Challenge and the Champ Car World Series has already bore fruit with the announcement that this year’s Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge Grand Nationals will be held at the Motorplex at Road America as part of Champ Car’s historic return to Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin on the September 22-24 weekend. This facility has already hosted many major events and this Grand National will certainly attract the best drivers in the Rotax program.
Fans attending the Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford event in Elkhart Lake will be in for a unique treat as they will be able to watch the complete Champ Car ladder system in work. The Rotax Kart Challenge will take center stage as they host their Grand Nationals event on the track, located on the infield of the famed Wisconsin facility. The top finishers at the Grand National will then go on to represent the United States in the Rotax World Finals. The Yokohama presents the Champ Car Atlantic Series powered by Mazda will also be on track that weekend for their last race of the season, followed by the 750 hp turbo-charged Champ Cars, a field which will feature former karters such as Paul Tracy, Alex Tagliani and AJ Allmendinger.

This working relationship between the Rotax Max Challenge and the Champ Car World Series has provided the platform for more exciting announcements in the future, beginning with the attendance of Champ Car racewinner Alex Tagliani, a devoted karter, at this year’s Kart Expo show in St. Charles, IL on February 25-26. The Canadian will be accompanied by a Champ Car contingent from Indianapolis, who will have an open wheel show car on display at the SSC Racing / Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge booth during the annual event. The Champ Car presence underscores the new alliance represented through the ‘Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge’.
Tagliani will be very busy as co-host of the SSC Racing Awards Banquet on the evening of Friday, February 24th. Alex will also be available on Saturday (Feb. 25) to sign autographs and provide photo opportunities from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and again from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

This partnership at Kart Expo and Road America further exhibits the commitment of both series to having a presence at each other's events as Champ Car will be taking show cars and drivers to appear at selected Champ Car Rotax Kart Challenge events. This collaboration with Champ Car will help cement the position of the Rotax Kart Challenge as one of the most prestigious and exciting forms of kart racing in the world, with a proven program of local, regional, national and world championship events.
