Daily Trackside Report:
Kennedy records best North American finish with impressive sixth in Junior
Selamat Datang (‘Welcome’) from the Morac Karting Circuit in Langkawi, Malaysia. After four days of clouds and rain, Saturday's action was run under bright blue skies and lots of sunshine. Today's schedule called for two RM1 heats followed by the Prefinals and Finals for all three classes. On Friday night, SSC Racing hosted a Thanksgiving party for all members of Team Americas. It was great to spend time with our teammates from Costa Rica and Mexico. It must be said that qualifying to come to a race like this is very special and it's more than just the racing. Joe Ramos and Joe Ramos Jr. of SSC Racing really go all out to make sure that this will be an event to remember and for those that have not qualified, you really need to make one of these races some time.

North Americas post full spectrum of results as weather complicates event
Friday in Malaysia dawned with a steady rain that persisted through the morning as the third official day of the Rotax Max Grand Finals looked set for the trouble. At around 10 am, persistent rain turned into torrential downpour and for a while it look like there may not be any on-track action as many parts of the circuit were under a few inches of water. Track crews went to work with push brooms and pump trucks and, surprisingly, by 1 pm the sun was out and things were looking good for the warm-up sessions to get underway at 2 pm. By race time, what had started out as a very dodgy situation had turned into a beautiful day as Chamber of Commerce weather had finally graced the island of Langkawi for the first time in four days.

This year’s Rotax Max Grand Finals finally delved into wheel-to-wheel action yesterday. Thursday was a real mix of rain, dry and very slick. The morning warm-up was run under dry conditions and some qualifying sessions encountered a few drops of moisture. After qualifying, however, it started raining hard.

Daily Trackside Report:
Wet Weather Makes Things Interesting for Practice
Wednesday saw the first "official" on-track action at the karting circuit here in Langkawi, Malaysia. Each of the three Rotax classes received three sessions of 20 minutes each. The first two sessions were not timed while the last was supposed to be on the clock. However, there was a problem with the scoring and timing loop in the track, possibly due to the rains that came, and this prevented us from getting any official times for the day.

Team USA and Canada Prep for Battle
During a time when most Americans are stuffing themselves with turkey and watching football or making 5:00 am dashes to the mall for the early Christmas deals during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, a selected few will be racing for their country, carrying the flag in a far away land. Already underway earlier this week, drivers and their crews of Team USA and Team Canada made their way to the Rotax Max Grand Finals at the MORAC International Karting Circuit in Langkawi, Malaysia.
