SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 13
When SuperSunday began, the EKN staff was unanimous in our predications that the only thing that could stop Ron White (TopKart) was some form of trouble. As the SuperPro field assembled on the grid, all looked in order when, just before the green light came on, White’s kart lurched forward and then nearly stalled. Lorenzo Mandarino pounced on the opening, taking the holeshot as the field worked to get around White, who was able to keep the fire going in his SwedeTech Pavesi. Slotting into second was Gary Carlton (Trackmagic) with Ryan Phinny (Birel) in third.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12
Today’s races at the SKUSA SuperNationals here in Las Vegas, NV had one aim and one aim only…set the grids for SuperSunday’s main events. Two additional rounds were run after the opening set was put into the books under the lights on Friday night.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11
The first day of competition at the ninth annual SKUSA SuperNationals kicked off at Sam Boyd Stadium with ten classes hitting the track for both qualifying and the first round of heats. The qualifying sessions ran in the afternoon and in a return to SuperNationals tradition, heats were run at night under the lights.

Full Story
Simply put, the track layout for this year’s SKUSA SuperNationals is going to provide a very raceable venue. Designed by veteran 125cc driver Alan Rudolph, the track consists of 11 turns of differing approach and radii and has been quite favorably received by the drivers in the paddock. Feedback has included phrases like “flowing” and a “driver’s track”. The layout has very good rhythm and will require smooth driving, horsepower and a good set-up to find ultimate victory. The long backshute is going to provide a strong braking zone while there are a few important corners that will penalize poor form.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9
The karting community is descending on Sam Boyd Stadium for the ninth annual Superkarts! USA SuperNationals. This is the second year the organization’s premier event has been held in the parking lot of the football stadium located about 20 minutes east of the famed Las Vegas Strip.
