Badger Presents Donation to Keith Tiffany
Near the end of the 2004 racing season, the Badger Kart Club learned that one of its own members, Keith Tiffany, had been diagnosed with oral cancer. Keith had visited several US doctors, only to learn that invasive surgery and removal of many sections of his jaw was the only treatment available in the United States.

After doing much research with his wife Carol, they learned of a new experimental treatment being performed in Germany that would not involve surgery. And their survival rate was equal to or better than the surgery option in the US. However, the price was much more than the average person can afford. And of course, his insurance would not cover it!

Badger Kart Club has always responded to karters in need, so when this tragedy hit so close to home, they obviously decided to take action. Headed by Badger Board member Bob Vehring, the Keith Tiffany Fund was started. Many great companies donated prizes including a brand new Margay and Trick-Olympic chassis! Between raffles and fund raisers, the club was able to present Mr. Tiffany with a check for $5000 at their April General Membership Meeting.

With tears in his and his wife's eyes, Keith told the crowd how much it meant to him that not only the club, but the entire national karting community, had come together to help them out. He also was able to report that his treatment had gone very well and that his prognosis looked very good over the next several years.

Over the past decade, the Badger Kart Club has led fund raisers and helped karters across the nation who needed it. Helping families and the karting community is a big part of Badger's philosophy, so it meant very much to everyone involved to help out yet another karter.

BKC/Briggs and Stratton Charity Races
Badger Kart Club is proud to announce the addition of the Briggs and Stratton Charity race to the 30th Annual Road America Supernationals. Sponsored by Briggs and Stratton, this special race will be held after practice on Friday, June 10th. All proceeds will be to benefit Badger Kart Club's Howard Memorial Scholarship Fund. Every entrant will receive a special commemorative medallion. Fair warning to the winner of this race -rumor has it that you had better bring two people to help carry home the crystal trophy!

Named after one of Badger Kart Club's original founder, Bob Howard, late husband of WKA Hall of Fame member Shirley Howard, the scholarship fund gives away several scholarships each year to karters for their continued education. These karters were selected among the many who submitted essays to the Badger Board of Directors in hope of being chosen. Qualities not only include their karting experience, but their contribution to the club and to karting as a whole.

On Saturday, July 16th, Briggs and Stratton will team up with Badger Kart Club again to hold a benefit 8-hour endurance race. Entry fee will be $500 and will include a brand new Briggs and Stratton Animal motor in the box! Again, all proceeds will go directly to the Howard Memorial Scholarship Fund to help our young karters to grow after high school. The race will be held at Badger Raceway in Dousman, WI (20 minutes west of Milwaukee).

Badger Announces Special Gold Cup Features
The Badger Kart Club announces three exciting features of its 2005 WKA Gold Cup Grand Nationals race weekend. While Badger Kart Club is pretty well known for the prizes it gives out, this time they have been outdone! Thanks to Briggs and Stratton, each entry for the WKA Gold Cup race at Badger Raceway will be entered into a drawing. The winner, to be drawn on Sunday, will receive a three-day, two-night trip to the Briggs and Stratton Karting Complex at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix AZ. This will include airfare, lodging at a resort hotel and the kart driving school of your choice, structured to your racing needs. So make sure to sign up for as many classes as you can to improve your chances of winning!

On Thursday, August 11th, Badger will host a WKA Tech Seminar put on by WKA 4-cycle expert Morgan Whitaker. This is the place to brush up on your 4-cycle engine skills or become a WKA certified tech man.

Finally, Badger Kart Club is proud to introduce a new member to its team, Quaker Steak and Lube of Madison WI. On Friday night of the Gold Cup race, Quaker Steak and Lube will host a free dinner at the track. Authentic Wisconsin brats and the best wings in the country are the headliners to this WKA Grand Nationals tradition. Be sure to make plans to stay for dinner!
