| Team News: Team Koene USA to Contest Final Rounds of Florida Winter Tour |

After earning their first podium results in the team's very short existence, Team Koene USA will head to the final rounds of the Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour (FWT) this coming weekend in Ocala, Florida. Taking place at the Ocala Gran Prix facility, the squad will be gunning for the top step of the podium while also providing trackside sales for OTK, Tony Kart, MG, Mojo, Rotax and Alpinestars products. Team Koene USA will look to continue the momentum gained at the opening rounds of the series and carry onwards into the remainder of 2013.
"We have been very busy since the start of the year," explained Koene USA's Mike Maurini. "Getting a program up and running very quickly was tough but everything seems to be going smoother now and things are finally coming together. We had hoped that by the middle of April we would be fully functional and offer the services we have wanted and we are right on pace to achieve our goal."
Heading into the final rounds of the series, Michael d'Orlando is riding a high-scoring three podium results in the past four events including two in the Vortex TaG Cadet division and one in the ultra challenging Rotax Mini Max class. Younger brother Nicholas is also turning up the wick scoring his best Florida Winter Tour finish to date with a sixth place effort on the Formula Kart weekend and showing the speed to challenge for a podium result in the Micro Max class on the Rotax weekend.
Maurini continued, "Both drivers are doing extremely well and are understanding our way of doing things. Working with them to increase their performance as drivers is key to gaining results. We are looking forward to the rest of the season."
While the Florida Winter Tour begins to wind down, Team Koene USA is planning the remainder of their 2013 schedule. With participation at the World Karting Association Manufacturer's Cup, United States Rotax Grand Nationals, Canadian National Championships, Rotax PanAm Championships and the prestigious Superkarts! USA SuperNationals, Koene USA will also offer trackside sales at all events.
Team Koene USA partner Martijn Koene added, "Focusing on a small but elite race team is our goal so we will only add a few drivers to the team as we move forward. First and foremost we want to be completely operational and work to develop drivers towards consistent race wins and podium results. Team Koene USA is small operation that will provide more one-on-one attention than that of the larger operations."
Back on track this coming weekend, Team Koene USA will be gunning for more podium results at the fifth and sixth rounds of the Florida Winter Tour. With drivers in the Vortex TaG Cadet division on the Formula Kart weekend, the team will enjoy very little time off as they hit the track immediately the following week in their Rotax powered karts.
