| Industry News: PittRace To Host Data Acquisition Seminar On February 9 |

Pittsburgh International Race Complex (PittRace) is hosting a data acquisition seminar for their customers on Saturday, February 9 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The four-hour workshop is open to kart and car racers utilizing the AIM RaceStudio2 software and will be taught by professional driver and driver coach, Marc Miller.

As a novice race driver, learning more about your car or kart data can help one improve and possibly win. Jim and I plan to attend and learn!”
For the Saturday, February 9 data acquisition seminar, the main focus will be not only the operation of the AIM/mychron data acquisition system, but also how to analyze and optimize the data provided to improve driver, engine and chassis performance. Additional focus will be placed on gauging driver performance and consistency. Using the optional GPS feature of the MyChron 4 and MXL-Pista systems, students will learn how to better understand the natural trends of their driver and how to improve their performance and better tune the chassis to their driving style. This particular seminar is not limited only to kart racers. Many car classes utilize AIM data acquisition and given their RaceStudio software will be featured, car racers are encouraged to attend as well.
“Data acquisition does not have to be a black art or confusing,” said Miller. “In fact, for years I had been to similar seminars and found them packed with so much technical information, it became overwhelming. My goal is to provide racers and mechanics with the tools necessary to understand how data acquisition works, how to read it and then how to put it to use in a simple and effective way. Everyone might have different needs when it comes to what they want to learn and that is welcomed.”

- Cost per attendee is $150.00, junior drivers are free with parent (15 and under)
- This seminar will begin promptly at 12:00 NOON and will roughly last four hours.

PittRace will hold this seminar in conjunction with their karting series banquet that will begin 5:00 PM in the Event Center. Dinner is served at 6:00 PM. Banquet participants are encouraged to attend. Both events will be held in the top floor of the Event Center with data seminar in the classroom, and banquet in the big banquet hall.
About the Instructor:
Marc Miller is a professional racing driver and driving coach with over 10 years of coaching experience. With accomplishments in all forms of motorsports (karting, formula cars, stock cars and sports car racing), Marc brings a vast knowledge base to his students regardless of their class or experience. Marc most recently is driver/coach for CJ Wilson Racing in the Grand Am Continental Tire Series and Mazda MX5 Cup while also acting as data coach for the MRP-Birel America Karting team. In 2009 he was runner-up in the Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship with an unprecedented eight straight podium finishes. Marc is a multi-time national karting champion, including 2008 Rotax Max Grand National Champion, representing Team USA in Lissone, Italy. Marc spends much of his time developing training programs for racers, teams and karting dealers for MRP Motorsport.
Marc offers individual and small group coaching for Data Acquisition Analysis & Focus Training and Mental Preparation through MRP Speed School. In addition, Marc's approach goes above and beyond the basic teachings of car control.
