Checkered Motorsports will once again be competing in the WKA Daytona KartWeek event. With five years of experience and clinching multiple podiums and wins on the way, the team is no stranger to the Daytona International circuit. Checkered Motorsports is coming off yet another championship in TaG, the team seeks for strong results to put them in contention for a fourth straight TaG national title.
J.P. Southern Jr. is competing in Yamaha Sportsman, Komet Sportsman, and Cadet Sportsman. Southern Jr. will be utilizing his Woltjer powered engines and PCR chassis to bring home solid finishes and in hopes for a victory. The young 11 year old is excited to get back in the driver’s seat.
The team will be hosting a total of 3 PCR pilots in the TaG category. Rookie, Andrew Bujdoso, is making his first debut in the TaG field where he will be running both TaG classes and Parilla Senior. Newcomer, Oliver Scigliano, aboard his PCR Mxk8 will mark his first race at the Daytona International circuit. Scigliano is excited to work with the Checkered Motorsports team and looks to power his way through the field. The five time national champion, Robert Bujdoso, is making an appearance in the Parilla Senior class. The young 19 year old had solid results last year and looks to repeat that performance with the team.
In TaG Masters Tom Gerstner will be in action once again. Gerstner is going into his third year running the national series, and has his eyes set for podium finishes. Recently competing in SuperNationals XVI, Gerstner gained the experience needed to finish well.

The team will be contesting in the Florida Winter Tour, WKA Manufacturers Cup Series, Great Lakes Sprint Series, USPKC Series, and the Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Tech support, transportation, and arrive and drive opportunities are available.
