Track News: Carolina Motorsports Park to Host WKA Manufacturers Cup Series and Road Racing Series
 


Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) is excited to announce they will again be hosting the World Karting Association (WKA) Mazda/Bridgestone Manufactures Cup race and the Vega/TS Racing National Road Racing Series on April 5-7, 2013 at their facility in Kershaw, S.C.

“ The World Karting Association has a great history of being one of the best karting organizations in America and features some of the best karters in America so we are proud to have them back at our facility again in 2013,” said David Watkins, Operations Manager. “The racing on our sprint track the last two years has been exciting for competitors and spectators so we expect another large turnout for this great event.”

The WKA Manufactures cup will be running on CMP’s 0.7 mile, 16 turn Sprint track that features a variety of corners and passing opportunities. The WKA Road Racing Series will be running on CMP’s 2.25 mile, 14 turn road course. With 30 acres of paddock featuring electrical hookups, day garages, permanent bathrooms and showers, CMP is one of the finest racing and karting facilities in North America.

CMP also hosts the Powerade Carolina Karting Championship that features 10 races, 7 different track configurations, and classes for Yamaha, Rotax, TAG, Shifter karts and Clone.

The World Karting Association (WKA) is a membership-owned, non-profit corporation formed in 1971 to regulate and promote the sport of competitive go-kart racing. The WKA establishes the rules and procedures to set standards by which to sanction tracks and to conduct annual championships for various types of karting. WKA maintains between 3,000 and 4,000 active members, which are located in over 40 states, Canada and Europe.
