WKA West Super Series Returns in 2013
Article by: WKA PitBoard

After its popular inaugural season, the WKA West Super Series announces its plans to return for the 2013 competition year. With regular entries consistently nearing the century mark each event, Karters from around the Western US continue to express their desire for the return of the WKA West Super Series; made up of a respected cooperation of regional clubs and tracks.

"The support for this program has been extremely positive." States series WKA Race Director, Kevin Williams, "The first year was a huge success, which brought together so many clubs, tracks, and rules in a truly un-biased fashion, all for the benefit of the Karters. I was honored to be a part of such a program that has a place for everyone, and look forward to its continued growth and success in 2013 and beyond."

Seven dates will once again make up the calendar for the series' sophomore season, which will bring back series sponsors, Bridgestone, RLV, and Grand Products, along with classes that are sure to suit any Karter. As was the case in 2012, official practice dates, pit parking, and registration for each round will be held the day prior to each Sunday race day.
• March 17 - Prairie City, CA; hosted by All-Star Karting
• April 21 - Dixon, CA; hosted by the Kinsmen Kart Club
• May 19 - Atwater, CA; hosted by the Atwater Kart Club
• June 23 - Reno, NV; hosted by the Northern Nevada Kart Club
• The Series will take July off to give the Karters a break
• August 25 - Monterey, CA; hosted by the Monterey Bay Karters
• September 22 - Davis, CA; hosted by the Blue Max Kart Club
• October 20 - Stockton, CA; hosted by the Little Stockton 99 Speedway
With many other Karting Events on the calendar in the month of July, series organizers made the respectful decision to give the karters a break, not forcing them to choose between other programs during this traditionally busy month for the Karting Public.

Classes for the 2013 campaign will spread all age categories once again, as well as consist of both two and four cycle machines, all running on Bridgestone rubber. Returning Headline classes on the 2-cycle side will be the RLV-supported PRD Spec Senior, while for Box Stock Clone Senior will head up the four cycle program. Other classes offered for 2013 will be Kid Kart, Comer Junior 1, KPV Juniors 1 and 2, TAG, Shifter categories and Clone Junior Categories.

Additional series information will be announced in the near future. Entry and other information can be found on the series' website, http://www.WKADistrict10.com or the WKA Website, http://www.WorldKarting.com

It's that time of year when our 2- and 4-cycle SFI/WKA Certified Technical Inspectors and Race Officials have concluded their work for the 2012 Competition Year and begin to look forward to their training and certification requirements for 2013.

To give them adequate time to plan to attend a seminar and take the required examinations, WKA is announcing its training schedule for the 2013 Competition Year. Following is the tentative schedule. It also includes trade shows and swap meets where WKA will be present.
