Looking to turn their luck around from round #4 of the fall edition of the Ocala Gran Prix local series, Alex and Mikey Hornborg will head back to the central Florida facility to cap of their season. Moving to their new racing divisions back in August, Alex has enjoyed success in Rotax Senior battling some of the state's top drivers while Mikey continues to gain experience and move up the field in only four Rotax Junior events. Working with the knowledgeable and experienced Ocala Gran Prix team, both drivers look to finish the series strong as they look onwards to 2013.

"I have had a great time since my move from the junior class to Rotax Senior," explains Alex. "The racing is closer and the moves are more calculated than in the junior ranks. Unfortunately, two weeks ago I was involved in an incident that destroyed my Tony Kart. With a new one back together, I will try and take the victory in the final event of 2012."

While making a bid for the second position during the OGP night race less than two weeks ago, Alex went up and over the kart he was following and crashed hard into the barriers at over 70mph. An instant red flag brought the race to a halt while Alex was checked out for a hand injury. Classified as a racing incident, Hornborg is primed and ready to return to the seat.

Throughout the fall edition of the series, Alex has been working with multi-time champion Gary Carlton, and has elevated his game. Running inside the top ten in Rotax Junior earlier in the year, Alex has adjusted nicely to the senior category scoring multiple podium results as well as a pole position in his first ever event.

Mikey Hornborg has followed in the footsteps of his older brother and garnered some success in the Rotax Junior ranks. Struggling in his Mini Max career, Mikey made the transition to the faster and bigger kart look easy. Running inside the top twenty during his first event, the youngest of the Hornborg brothers began to find the speed and become accustomed to the new class. Scoring his first top ten as the class size continued to grow to over thirty competitors, Mikey would battle champions and Rotax Grand Finals Team USA members in the local series.

Consistently running around the tenth position, Mikey began to claim points in the title chase to have a top ten finish in his rookie campaign. Currently sitting 11th due to some bad racing luck, the youngest Hornborg will look to break through with a solid result in his final event of 2012 and move up in the point standings.

Preparing for the 2013 racing calendar, Alex and Mikey Hornborg will look to finish the season strong this coming weekend. With final plans all but set in stone, the Hornborgs will once again see action in the Florida Winter Tour, Florida Karting Championship Series, North Florida Rotax Max Challenge, United States Rotax Grand Nationals and other select karting events.
