As the 2012 SKUSA SuperNationals in Las Vegas Nevada quickly approaches the big news breaks about American driver Gary Carlton returning to the drivers seat. Carlton will be competing in the KZ2 category running for Energy Corse aboard an Energy Chassis and powered by BMB Engines from Tec Sav Racing Development. The last time that Carlton saw the competition was exactly one year ago during the SuperNationals and he is eagerly awaiting to get back into the driver's seat. The 2006 SuperNationals Champion has always been a threat for victory and is poised to take on the best shifter kart drivers once again under the Rio Hotel skyline.
"Naturally I'm very excited to be able to compete in this years addition of the SuperNationals." Gary says with a big smile. "The SuperNationals has always been a very special event for myself and it will be great to get back behind the wheel of a KZ machine on the Rio circuit."
This will be the first time Carlton and the Energy Corse Team has worked together but both parties are confident that they can claim a very strong result. "I have always kept a close eye on the Energy Corse Team as they have always claimed great results in many different categories around the globe so when the opportunity presented itself to be a team driver for Vegas I was quick to jump on board. I know we will have our backs against the wall at the start being the first time I will set foot in the Energy chassis will be in Vegas, but I am very confident with my mechanic Alain Fanti that we will get up to pace very quickly. Our target will be to fight for the win come Sunday and it is a real honor that Mick Panigada and Energy Corse have put their trust in me and I would like to thank them for this awesome opportunity."
Along with a new team Carlton will also be sporting many new personal sponsors and new driving gear in Vegas. Carlton will be wearing a brand new Bell GP.2K helmet, custom painted by Brett King Design. In addition to his greatly anticipated new lid will be a hot new Brett King Design drivers suit that will be making its debut in Vegas that Gary is helping to develop. Gary quotes, "Brett King Design will again be coming out with something special for this race, and I can not wait to see his design on my new Bell Helmet. Then to top it off he will be debuting his new suit line that is sure to turn some heads."
Another new sponsor that will be represeented in Vegas is procarryholsters.com. "I would like to send out a huge thank you to Becky and Jerry Brown of Pro Carry Holsters for there support for this very special event. If not for their support this opportunity would not be possible and I will give 100% during the week to show my gratitude towards the involvement in this program.
Carlton will also be flying his existing sponsors: Oakley, Playthings Racing, Neal Trucking, Harjy Racing and Ocala Gran Prix.
Carlton would also like to express his gratitude towards his boss and co-workers at Ocala Gran Prix. "This past season I have been working full time with the Ocala Gran Prix crew and we have achieved some great results this season with many drivers. I cannot thank Alex Speed, Nate Grindell, Mario Ioffredo, Cody Johnson and the rest of the OGP crew for all the support and great times this season. I cannot wait to work side-by-side with you all again next year. And also a huge thank you to Jorge Arellano for giving me this opportunity to take off work to partake in this huge event." |
