RoboPong 200 Announces Record Purse Structure and Several Extras on the Weekend

In just two weeks, the gates will open up for the ninth running of the RoboPong 200 held at the popular New Castle Motorsports Park in New Castle, Indiana. The October 13-14 event will bring together teams from across the country to compete for the highest race purse in the event’s history, along with adding their names to the prestigious Dan Wheldon Cup. A $10,000 check will be awarded to the winning team, in addition to $5,000 for each winner in the new Yamaha Junior and Yamaha Sportsman joining the weekend’s festivities.

In total, the 200-lap endurance race for TaG karts around the 1-mile course will award a $22,000 in cash to the top-10 finishing teams, including $10k to the winning squad - the highest payout in event history. Another $20,000 has been set up to be spread out for the top-five finishers in the Yamaha Junior and Yamaha Sportsman 30-lap feature races, bringing the total cash purse to $42,000. New Castle Motorsports Park and Bridgestone will be awarding a set of tires to finishers in sixth to tenth in the RoboPong 200 along with those drivers finishing seventh to tenth in the Yamaha events. There will also be drawings for three new Bell GP2 helmets, and a RACERSITES 'FASTRAX' driver website for all competitors. A full breakdown can be seen below.

New Castle Motorsports Park and owner Mark Dismore Sr. are making sure everyone, on and off the track enjoy the experience of the RoboPong 200. IndyCar will be onsite, with the series hauler and the ‘Road to Indy’ show cars on display. Currently, three IndyCar drivers have committed to the 2012 event, all former winners - Josef Newgarden (2011), Jay Howard (2010) and Ed Carpenter (2009). A 65’ ferris wheel is set to be on-site for the weekend with ride proceeds going to the Riley Children’s Hospital, a longtime partner with NCMP. Team Fastrax, a professional skydiving team will perform during the national anthem ceremony. Spectator admission is free. Those unable to attend will be able to view the live streaming broadcast of the event through the NCMP website with multiple camera views. eKartingNews.com will also be on hand during the weekend, providing in-depth coverage of the entire weekend.

Pre-entries will be received up to September 28 before a $50 late fee will be assessed on each entry, for the RoboPong 200 event and the Yamaha categories, after that date. For more information and to submit your entry, be sure to visit http://www.newcastlemotorsportspark.com/enduro.shtml
