The newest edition of the 2012 EKN Constructors Championship standings has been tabulated following three solid months of racing from all over the country. The season has seen a very diverse number of brands compete in the scheduled events of the EKN CC program, and the familiar names remain at the top. The battle for the 2012 title tightened up over the last few months with Tony Kart gaining enough points to trail the CRG brand by just 16 points heading into the final five events of the season.
CRG held a lead of 62 points after events through the month of May. The brand put in top showing at the SKUSA Pro Tour SummerNationals and good results at the recent United States Rotax Max Challenge Grand Nationals, with a number of teams helping to guide their drivers to top-five finishes, including PSL Karting, CRG-USA, Acceleration Kart Racing, and others. Tony Kart cut into the lead, setting up for a fight to the finish. Tony Kart scored points at all five events included in the EKN CC standings for the past three months, earning the top score at two events (IKF Grand Nationals and Rotax Grand Nationals). Tony Kart also recorded the second highest at the SummerNats in July, with one driver in 12 of the 14 features. Remaining third in the order is 2010 EKN CC champ Arrow. Extending its streak of consecutive events scoring points - now at 18 - the brand recorded the second highest total at three events, WKA Manufacturers Cup Series at South Bend and Norway, along with the Rotax Grand Nationals.
Jumping into the top-five is Kosmic, who now stands in the fourth position. Scoring the third highest total at the SKUSA SummerNationals thanks to drivers under the Rolison Performance Group, two Kosmic drivers will compete at the Rotax Grand Finals thanks to their podium finishes at the Rotax Grand Nationals under the J3 Competition tent. Top Kart remains fifth in the standings, recording the highest total at the WKA Norway event, riding on the victories from EKN TaG Driver Rankings #1 driver Mason Chelootz.
Birel falls to sixth despite scoring the highest total at the WKA South Bend event, home track of the MRP Motorsport squad that field a number of top-five finishers. Intrepid also falls, down to seventh, scoring points only at the SKUSA SummerNationals. Merlin moved into eighth thanks to the third highest total at the WKA South Bend weekend. The GP brand jumped into the top-10 with another solid outing on the SKUSA Pro Tour. Completing the top-10 is Parolin, also earning its points at the SKUSA SummerNationals.

EKN Constructors Championship Guidelines
The EKN Constructors Championship calculation process includes the top-five finishers in each recognized class (Senior-Master-Junior classes). The SKUSA Pro Tour, US Rotax Grand Nationals, and Pan American Challenge will earn points with the following structure; 1st=20 points, 2nd=16 points, 3rd=12 points, 4th=8 points, 5th=4 points. The remaining events will continue to be awarded with the previous ranking system; with first place earning five (5) points down to fifth place earning one (1) point for each category. There is a minimum of 10 starting entries for the class points to be counted toward the season total in the EKN CC standings.
