| Event News: IKF Region 11 Money Race Set for August 24-26 |

As the 2012 karting season hits the homestretch, the International Kart Federation (IKF) Region 11 is adding a little extra incentive for the penultimate round of their program. Offering cash awards, huge prizes as well as punches towards the 2013 IKF 2-Cycle Spring Grand Nationals, series officials are working hard to increase participation and entry numbers for the remaining events on their 2012 series calendar.
"The IKF Region 11 is a travelling series and for many, this can be a burden," explained Series Coordinator Don Durbin Sr. "We have added some incentives to make the series more inviting with huge cash prizes and awards. In addition, we invite all non-IKF members to participate with a low priced, one event membership or register for an IKF one year membership trackside."
Taking place at the Desert Park Raceway in Reno, Nevada and hosted by the Northern Nevada Kart Club on August 24 - 26, series sponsors and supporters have stepped up to the plate to offer a wide array of cash and prices.
For classes with fifteen or more participants, main event awards will be as follows:
First: $1000.00 Cash
Second: One set of Bridgestone or Mojo Tires
Third: KG Carbon Spoke Steering Wheel
Fourth: Free Entry to IKF Region 11 Race #7 in Fresno, California
For classes with ten or more participants, main event awards will be as follows:
First: $500.00 Cash
Second: One complete Scribner Plastics rear bumper assembly
Third: Free Entry to IKF Region 11 Race #7 in Fresno, California
*Additional prizes will be raffled for all classes
Along with the cash prizes and awards, the IKF Region 11 program will be handing out multiple items of hardware as drivers will have the opportunity to compete for the IKF Region 11 Screaming Eagle Pole award, Junior and Senior Sportsmanship awards, Shop participation award as well as the Engine Builder award that will be awarded to the shop or race team and the engine builder with the most entries.
Durbin continued, "We are really excited about this event and are looking forward to getting on track. I need to thank our series supporters and sponsors, as with out them, putting these incentives in place would not have been possible."
Post race technical inspection will be completed by John Motley and all technical inspection will be per current International Kart Federation rules.
"To streamline tech inspection for the finals, we will once again be using the dice roll to determine what will be teched," explained Motley. "All tech items will be listed for each class and numbered. The class victor will roll the dice to determine the minimum technical inspection for their division."
