| Driver News: Kyle Kalish and Zach Busch Teaming Up In Memory of Adam Schatz |
| |
Adam Schatz was born on November 20th, 1981, and had one giant heart and a love for racing. He had started racing when he was seven, but gave up racing during college to focus on his Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago. After college, he successfully returned to the Championship Enduro Series in the Tag division. On July 12, 2008, at the Road America SuperNationals, Adam was involved in a serious accident. One week later, on July 19, he passed away due to the severity of his injuries. In 2008, in memory of Adam, Kyle Kalish and Zack Busch went into Round 4 of the Manufacturers Cup Series and dedicated their victories to Adam.
With the Manufacturers Cup returning to Concept Haulers Motor Speedway, and it being the 4 year anniversary of Adam’s passing, Kyle and Zach wanted to do something in his memory. They will be racing with Adam in their hearts for the 5th round of the series, doing their best to win some races like they did in 2008. Kyle will be competing in both Yamaha Junior and Komet Junior, just like he has all year, in his Franklin Motorsports/Woltjer Racing Engines Merlin chassis. Zach will be competing in the TaG divisions on his Checkered Motorsports/CKT/Source Engines PCR chassis. Both their chassis will be sporting special decals in Adam’s memory.
Kyle and Zach would like to thank DB Motorsports and CKT Racing Engines for supplying them with decals for the event |
