| Track News: Battle of Sexes and Rental Kart League Action This Weekend at PGP Motorsports Park |
| |
The weekend is in sight, and if you're making plans don't forget to include PGP.
We start things off at 7 p.m. on Friday with the Battle of the Sexes. Each team of one guy and one gal will compete against the other teams, girls vs. girls and boys vs. boys, in alternating track sessions (two each). We'll add both drivers' times together to determine the winning pair.
The cost is $99 per couple (Note: the form on Wednesday's email listed the wrong price) and minimum age is 18. Pre-registration by fax, email or in person is encouraged using this form.
On Saturday the focus shifts to individual competition as Rental Kart League Racing returns. RKLR events are perfect for newcomers to organized racing and novice karters. You show up and we'll take care of you and everything else.
We'll kick things off at 9 a.m. and give you four on-track sessions — practice, qualifying, Pre-Final and Final — before the event wraps up at 11:30 a.m. Weights will be used to ensure the two RKLR classes, Expert and Novice, are equalized for all racers.
There is no maximum number of drivers but the minimum age is 15; the member fee for a single event is $85 and for non-members it is $95. Pre-registration by email, fax or in person is required using the forms on our website.
After the RKLR event wraps up on Saturday we'll have Open Rentals until dusk. The track will be closed Sunday as it is a King County-mandated "quiet day."
