There’s simply no arguing the fact that Ribtect has been instrumental in introducing new and original products to the karting market. First up was their Ribtect vest, which focused on preventing rib injuries, which was then complimented by the Ribtect seat. Next was the Ribtect chest protector, aimed at protecting young drivers in the sport from serious injuries. Ribtect owner Robby Mott continues to keep the creative juices flowing year after year, looking for the next product that will help take karting to the next level and provide more safety. The latest release is just that - the Ribtect Seat Mounting Kit.
The unique kit comes complete with everything you need to mount your seat to any kart. Each Ribtect Seat Mounting bolt is made of high quality stainless steel, manufactured with a low profile bolt head. This design is aimed at lowering the pressure that is applied from a typical seat bolt system, which may cause rib pain, while also providing less friction against your suit or rib protector. Each bolt head has a distinctive mounting function that requires a special hand tool for tightening and loosening each bolt. The kit includes six 1” bolts, two 2.5” bolts, four small washers, two large washers, four 16mm thick seat spacers, eight 3mm thick seat spacers, and the custom hand tool.

Mott told eKartingNews.com that the Ribtect Seat Mounting Kit has been four years in the making. After developing the prototype, other projects - such as the Ribtect 3 rib protector vest that came out last year - have delayed the release of the Seat Mounting Kit to the karting market. Mott said the first initial customers of the kit have provided solid feedback with all positive remarks on the performance and use of the Ribtect Seat Mounting Kit. He plans to market the kit globally along with the many other products Ribtect has to offer, looking to connect with master distributors in every country where karting is popular.
