| K1 RaceGear Supports Rock Island Grand Prix for Second Straight Year |

K1 RaceGear is happy to announce its continued partnership with the Rock Island Grand Prix race for the second year in a row, following the response from last year’s presence. The coveted street race, which takes place in downtown Rock Island, Illinois is in its 18th year and is the most popular karting street race in the world. Thanks to the long history of this event, the race brings out huge crowds and many of the country's top drivers to race in the 15 feature events that will be contested over Labor Day Weekend..
“We are looking forward to another year supporting this prestigious event,” states K1 RaceGear marketing manager Brad Harvey, “The success we received last year made us want to come back, as the fans the drivers, and the event itself matches what K1 RaceGear embodies in the kart racing world”
Roger Ruthhart added, "We are always happy when we can partner with quality manufacturers and distributors to enhance our prize packages for the racers. We appreciate K1 RaceGear's continued support and I know the winning drivers will appreciate the prizes they are providing."
K1 RaceGear will be awarding one of the new K1 RaceGear karting jackets and a set of our Reflex karting gloves to the overall point winner of the KPV Throwdown hosted by the Route 66 Series at Concept Haulers Raceway, Norway, Ill. and KPV Throwdown II at the Rock Island Grand Prix. The points awarded are 30 points for first place, 25 for second, 20 for third, 15 for fourth and 10 points for fifth. Combined points from the two races will determine the prize winner.
The winner of the Rock Island Grand Prix Midwest Clone Challenge will also win one of the new K1 RaceGear karting jackets and Reflex karting gloves. The overall winner will be determined according to RIGP rules based on results from races in Iowa, Illinois and Indiana and including the Rock Island Grand Prix.
In addition, K1 RaceGear will also be awarding the winner of the Briggs sealed motor LO206 class at the Rock Island Grand Prix with a K1 RaceGear Karting Jacket and Reflex Karting gloves
