| Final Week for Pledges to Support ‘Become One: A Karting Documentary’ |

This week is the final push to reach the $40,000 goal to support the production costs of the film ‘Become One: A Karting Documentary’ by John Shofner of Shofner Films. Capturing the essence of the sport and bringing it to a film is the primary goal of Shofner and the ‘Become One’ film staff - http://www.becomeonefilm.com . A number of industry members and karters from the United States and other countries have already pledged their support in the making of the film, as over 130 supporters have been confirmed through its Kickstarter web page (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1415102938/become-one-karting-documentary). Thus far, over $22,000 has been raised to support the film, although only five days remain to secure the necessary funds to begin production.
As we enter the final few days for karters and motorsports enthusiasts to get behind the project, EKN is promoting a ‘1000 at $20’ effort to help bring the total to and beyond the $40,000 mark.
“Most people feel that their $20 will not help in anyway, but we want to encourage karters from the United States and elsewhere that this is not the case,” stated eKartingNews.com’s Rob Howden. “If we took the total number of drivers from the SKUSA SuperNationals to pledge that amount, we’d be halfway to our finish line today. Whether you’re a club racer, a regional driver, or at the national level, this film will be something you can share with your family, friends, and neighbors about the sport you love.”
A number of industry members have pledged their support to the ‘Become One’ project. Need a set of tires? Those racers who will be purchasing a set of tires in the near future can earn a new set courtesy of MG Tires. The benefit package for a $300 pledge includes one set of MG Tires, an EKN hat, and a digital download package of the film.

“We need everyone’s support in this final week,” continued Howden. “We’ve contacted some key motorsports figures still involved in karting today. NASCAR’s Jamie McMurray, IndyCar’s Charlie Kimball, and current DTM driver Robert Wickens each Tweeted to their many Twitter followers about the film. It’s brought on a lot of attention, we just all need to come together for one final push to reach the goal.”
