WKA Launches New WorldKarting.com

The World Karting Association has launched a new website at WorldKarting.com. The new site went live Sunday night, April 29, and will permanently take the place of the pervious WKA website.

The new website, designed in house, contains all the pertinent information WKA members and racers need, including updated point standings, schedules, current entry blanks, tech updates, Pit Board press releases, series class rules, contacts and much more.

Each WKA national series has its own "series page" devoted to the specific national tour. Each series page includes the 2012 schedule, links to point standings, competition committee, class rules, tire rules, chassis (manufacturer) points, Mylaps results, entry forms and more.

A special "New To Karting?" page is a new feature to the WKA website. The page, which will continue to evolve, is devoted to those interested in kart racing but lacking in knowledge on the sport and how to get started.

The New To Karting? page includes a detailed story describing the various forms of karting, photos of all different styles of karts and a general karting reference guide.

Another new item is a "Driver / Team News" section, which is found toward the bottom of the homepage. This module is devoted to racers', teams' and karting businesses' press releases. These releases will not be run in WKA's Pit Board, but will be posted on the homepage of the new site. The releases' opening paragraph with a "Read More" link will run on the homepage until the release is archived on the Driver / Team News page.

In order for the release to be posted, the driver, team or business must be affiliated with a WKA-sanctioned series or track, or a WKA sponsor or advertiser.

Send press releases to newsdesk@worldkarting.com

A link to WKA's Karting Scene online magazine is located in the right position of the homepage. The WKA website staff has corrected loading problems the magazine previously experienced and it should now load quickly with any reasonable Internet connection.

In addition to the latest WKA news, the new site's homepage contains ads that link to upcoming national event entry forms, links to Tech Updates and membership application packet PDFs, an email signup option to WKA's Pit Board, Mazda S-Plan signup and links to latest national results.

The new site is an ongoing effort that will continue to grow, develop and improve over the coming weeks and months.

If you have questions regarding the new WKA website, contact Keith Shampine at keith@worldkarting.com or Keith Roberts at wkamag@worldkarting.com
