Anticipated Start to New Texas ProKart Challenge Comes May 4-6
Article by: texasprokartchallenge.com

After months of planning and promoting, the new Texas ProKart Challenge (TPKC) presented by 3G Kart Racing/Burger King™/Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys will host its inaugural event at the Gulf Coast Kartways in Katy Texas. The six-round championship begins on the May 4-6 weekend with the first two rounds contested around the 7/10-mile course. The TPKC is a combination of Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) and United States Rotax Max Challenge (USRMC) programs, making it the most affordable and convenient regional series in the area. In total, 16 categories will be available throughout the three-weekend series with the chance for local option categories to join the fun and excitement of the new program.

A number of star drivers from the area will be in attendance on the weekend. 3G Kart Racing and Champion Racing will field their stud pilots in a number of categories, including Jake French, Jordon Musser, Chris Jennings, Ryan Kinnear, Connor Wagner, Alex Tartaglia and many other names that were among the top drivers at the recent SKUSA SpringNationals. A solid list of USRMC drivers from the area will also be in Katy this weekend, all looking to gain their first two punches as part of the United States Rotax Max Challenge.

Drivers will be competing for pride and bragging rights, along with over $15,000 in awards and prizes. The highlight prize of the series will be a portion of the championship fund going toward SKUSA and USRMC class champions earning a paid entry to the SKUSA SuperNationals and the US Rotax Grand Nationals (must have average of five entries or more in class for the full season). Each SKUSA class champion will receive a guaranteed starting position in the SuperSunday main event at the SuperNationals, regardless of their heat race or LCQ performances. All competitors racing in the USRMC classes as part of the Burger King™ Rotax Max Challenge series will earn one ‘punch’ per round toward qualification for the US Rotax Grand Nationals in August or the Pan American Challenge in September.

Pre-registration ends Sunday, April 29, thus leaving just a few more hours before the Texas ProKart Challenge ‘Series Loyalty Program’ ends. In an effort to keep the costs of regional racing down, the TPKC is offering pre-entry discounts for the full season. Racers who register for the entire series in advance will get one race entry free, reducing the price of entry fees for each race to only $66, which includes the driver pass. In addition, TPKC officials have set the entry fee for a driver’s first class at only $80 (includes driver pass),and if he or she signs up for a second class, the entry fee is only $50 for that additional category. These prices last until Sunday at Midnight, with prices increased when entering trackside. Series officials encourage those still not entered to do so now.

To help kick off the series right, Superkarts! USA President Tom Kutscher will be on-hand to oversee the event while engaging with old and new SKUSA members, “I’m very excited about this new region. We’ve had a lot of support from racers in Texas at the SuperNationals and now at the Pro Tour. Now with a region in the area, we can promote our style of karting to the entire state. I’ll be in Katy to make sure they follow our style of management and that everyone has a good time. I believe the Texas ProKart Challenge could be our largest region in the very near future.”

The Texas ProKart Challenge program is gaining strong support from companies outside the industry to support the 2012 season, signing on as series partners. The list includes Aquajet, Crown Financial, Fisk Marine Insurance, GulfStar Group Investment Bankers, J&T Racing, LCG Discovery Experts, Margison Graphics, Miller & Brown LLP, and Rollo Insurance. 3G Kart Racing, Burger King™, and Fernelius Alvarez Attorneys have committed to be series title sponsors for 2012. To add your business as a TPKC partner for 2012, be sure to contact Dave Pauly at 832-452-6769 or email dave@3gkartracing.com .

Following the opening weekend of the Texas ProKart Challenge, the series will continue in the summer with events at Grandsport Speedway in Houston, Texas (June 2-3) and North Texas Karters in Denton, Texas (June 30-July 1).
