| Track News: PGP Motorsports Park - Rental Kart League Update |
| |
The weather is heating up and so is the action in our rental racing series. With last week’s Rental Endurance event drawing more than 25 drivers, we are looking forward to another weekend of awesome racing when Rental Kart League Racing returns on Saturday.
We're so sure you'll enjoy taking racing one of our Birel N35 karts in our competitive but crazy-fun RKLR events that we're offering a special reduced entry fee of just $65 for first-time participants this Saturday. That's a savings of $20! (or 15 gallons of gas ... in 1982!)
Since bringing new general manager Scott Cowell aboard in September 2011, we have gone to great lengths to increase the parity and quality of the races in our rental series. This increased structure has promoted the level of sportsmanship and generated great competition and fast, clean racing amongst our karters. For RKLR events we'll use weights to ensure the two classes, Expert and Novice, are equalized to ensure fair performance for different-sized racers.
The weather guessers are saying we're in for a beautiful day (sunny & 60s!) and rental kart racing at PGP is perfect for both newcomers and old hands. You show up (and are 15 or older) and we provide the rest: kart, fuel, tires, helmet and rain gear if conditions warrant (all Rental Kart series events are rain or shine).
We'll kick things off at 9 a.m. and give you four on-track sessions — practice, qualifying, Pre-Final and Final — before the event wraps up at 11:30 a.m. with an awards presentation.
There is no maximum number of drivers; the member fee for a single event is $85 and for non-members it is $95 (Don't forget Saturday's special rate for first-timers!). And for all you long time supporters of rental racing at PGP, don’t worry: we haven’t forgot about you! Stay tuned next week for a special announcement!
Registration forms, rules and more information can be found on our website.
One last thing: after you have a blast on Saturday, you'll want to mark you calendar for the next RKLR event on April 28. We know you won't want to miss it.
