In a split weekend, P1 Engines would have competitors competing on both sides of the country. While the California Pro Kart Challenge (PKC) would continue their series at the Willow Kart Track in Rosamond, California, the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturer's Cup competitors would travel to Kershaw, South Carolina to do battle at the fast and technical Carolina Motorsports Park. When the final checkered flag had flown for both events, P1 Engines would once again stand atop the podium in both series premiere TaG divisions.

Nevada's Matt Johnson would be the driver to beat on the West coast as he had already started his Pro Kart season off strong with a win in round one. Taking the pole position, two heat race wins and main event victory, Johnson led every green flag lap as he dominated the stout field of senior drivers.

TaG Cadet pilot Braden Waterman has a spirited qualifying effort, as he was able to claim the second position, missing the top spot by a scan .005. In a hard fought event, Waterman would leave Rosamond with a fourth place result and will look to move into the top three at the next event. Fellow P1 Engines powered driver and TaG Masters pilot Paul Bonilla showed his consistent nature throughout the day to come home second. After qualifying in the third position and claiming two second place results in the heat races, Bonilla would claim the second step of the podium and start his 2012 Pro Kart Challenge off strong.

On the eastern half of the United States it was Tommy Anderson who stole the show in Saturday's WKA TaG 1 division. Utilizing a freshly prepared P1 Engines Rok TT, Anderson followed in the footsteps of his west coast P1 counterpart by taking the pole position, heat race win and main event victory.

With four P1 Engines powered drivers in the field, none of them would run outside the top six as Mason Chelootz, Chris Wherheim and Raquel Martinez would also show strong. While all three would utilize P1 Engines prepared Parilla Leopards, Chelootz would score the best results of the trio with a third after qualifying in the second position. Wherheim would cross the stripe in the fifth position while female pilot Martinez would come home sixth.

"The TaG 1 final results at WKA is a great accomplishment for P1 Engines," explained engine builder Jesus Vasquez. "To have four drivers in the field and all of them finish in the top six shows something about our program. If it wasn't for some bad racing luck in TaG 2, I am confident that we would have had the same sort of success."

In the TaG 2 final, Wherheim would switch a P1 Engines Rok TT and improve his position to cross the line in fourth. Martinez would continue her consistent runs and come home sixth while Saturday's winner, Tommy Anderson, would come home seventh.

With the WKA program wanting to have a class strictly for the Parilla Leopard brand of engines, the Leopard Only class would run on one of the event days throughout the weekend and a pair of P1 Engines powered drivers would garner top five results. After winning the heat race, Georgia's Chris Wherheim would fall to fourth in the final tally while Texan Mason Chelootz would lose a chain in the prefinal and come from the tail of the field to score a solid fifth place finish.

Raquel Martinez would also be on track in the Komet Piston Port (KPP) Lite and Heavy divisions throughout the weekend. Scoring a third place finish in the Lite class, the Californian female would improve to take the second step of the podium in the KPP Heavy.
