| Team News: Team Top Kart - WKA Manufacturer’s Cup Series Kershaw Report |
| |
Team Top Kart headed to South Carolina for the second round of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup with plans to repeat their success from Daytona.
Mason Chelootz continued his dominance of the Komet classes winning both finals in Kershaw giving him three out of four final wins this season. Mason also had a strong showing in the TAG categories scoring a second, third, and fifth along with pole position for TAG Final 2. Chris Wehrheim also had a successful weekend joining Chelootz on the podium in all three TAG categories with two fourth and a fifth. Raquel Martinez continues in improve in her freshman year in seniors. Competing in five classes Raquel finished second and third in the two Komet races along with two sixths and an eighth in TAG. John Ferris again scored a win in TAG Masters, his second of the year. Scott Ferris, Mark, and Julia Boos did not have weekends to remember, but these three drivers always fight hard and will make improvements for the next round.
The Johnston brothers had a rough weekend with up and down results. Garrett and Jake both finished in the top ten in Yamaha Jr. Lite. In Yamaha Jr. Heavy Jake led a majority of the race and was taken out on the last lap while leading. After the incident Jake was able to cross the line in fifth. Zane Smith and Ryan Raffa consistently ran inside the top fifteen and both had top ten results. Look for these two drivers to start challenging for podiums at Beaverun.
In the sportsman categories Kaden Harter was able to snag his second podium of the season in Cadet final 1. He followed that up with a sixth in final 2. Lance Fenderson unfortunately had bad luck following all weekend, but look for him to be at the front at the next round. Tyler Ferris continues to impress in Rookie Sportsman finishing second and fourth in the two finals. Cousin Connor was able to get a solid tenth place result in final 2.
