| King George Speedway Adds Name to New 2012 WKA National Pavement Program |

WKA officials are proud to announce the addition of King George Speedway in Virginia as the sixth representative to join the new WKA Speedway Pavement Program in 2012.
Along with Chapel Hill Raceway, Oakland Valley Raceway Park, Poughkeepsie Speedway, and Riverhead Raceway in New York, as well as Sandy Hook Speedway in Maryland, the new program will find all six facilities running a minimum of a four-race WKA divisional program. Of those four events, one race will be deemed a Super Regional, awarding double points across the board, and locking the race winners into the Grand National field at Chapel Hill Raceway in Humphrey, New York August 10-12.
While Super Regional winners will have certain perks in the Grand National, the Chapel Hill event is open to ALL participants, not just the divisional race winners throughout the year. Winners in each race will be honored as the 2012 champion in their respective class or classes.
With the addition of the many tracks comes the resurrection of the flatheads, with one day of the two-day Grand National being dedicated to flathead classes. Below is the current list of tracks, as well as their respective Divisional and Super Regional dates.

Mardela Speedway to run Dirt Super Regional June 9
Closely following the path of the newly developed Speedway Pavement Program for 2012,WKA officials are slowly assembling race dates and venues for the quest to find the ultimate dirt champion at the Daytona Dirt World Championships in December.
With July 28 already designated as a Super Regional at Possum Kingdom Super Speedway in Belton, South Carolina, part of the South Carolina Dirt Divisional Series, officials at Mardela Speedway, another participant in the WKA Dirt Divisional program, have chosen Saturday, June 9as their date for their northeastern Super Regional event.
Closely resembling the Pavement program, track participants in the Dirt Program will be able to provide their competitors two opportunities to lock themselves into the field for the Dirt World Championships, first as a winner in the Super Regional event. However, if a competitor cannot secure a victory in the Super Regional, they still have an opportunity to claim a starting spot if they win their class championship.
If the Super Regional winner also wins the class title at years end, the runnerup in that respective class would then be eligible to secure the guaranteed starting spot at The World Center of Racing in December.
